Debugging on iPhone Requires App Deletion

Problem

When running & debugging an application on an iPhone / iPod using Xcode you get the error:

“A signed resource has been added, modified, or deleted.”

With the application not being able to be redeployed until it is deleted from the device.

Fix

Simply turn off Passcode Lock on the device.

Update: This might just be an issue in the pre-release iPhone 3.2 SDK.

Update 2: If this doesn’t work try:

  1. Xcode > Build > ‘Clean’ and then ‘Clean All Targets’
  2. Xcode > Build > ‘Build and Go’

Macbook Pro Speaker Pop In Garageband

Problem

When sorting out a podcast in garageband I often find the audio goes weird, pops my speakers and stops them from working. This seems to primarily happen when scrubbing around whilst it plays..

Fix

I took a chance and plugged some headphones in and out and it worked again.

However, it doesn’t sound too healthy so hopefully Apple will address this soon..

iWeb Couldn’t reach the MobileMe configuration server..

Problem

I use iWeb to managed a podcast, simply because I felt I should utilise my iDisk more and the send to iWeb option in GarageBand is just too convenient, however, the other day I was kindly greeted with this error:

‘Couldn’t reach the MobileMe configuration server’

A quick search on twitter led to no results, so I assumed it was a problem with my MacBook / connection rather than MobileMe as a whole.

Fix

Close iWeb, Go to User > Library > Cache and drag the iWeb folder to your desktop.

Hey presto!

You can delete the iWeb folder from you desktop once it works again..

Oh, Look… I’ve Got a Blog!

Well I set this up in a hurry when I was meant to be doing something else, the blogging engine is powered by WordPress, with Sandbox (converted to HTML5) used as the base. The networks page is a plugin called LifeStream that basically brings in all your social feeds to WordPress!

Still need to tweak the layout of the comments and a few other things here and there, but for now this will do!
