INTRODUCTION
These Terms of Use apply to your use of Big Red Arrow.
By downloading, accessing, or using Big Red Arrow, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.
Big Red Arrow is provided by Ben Collier.
WHAT BIG RED ARROW DOES
Big Red Arrow is a simple direction utility. It can help you point towards destinations, saved places, imported GPX points, and locations you choose to save.
Big Red Arrow is not a full navigation, route planning, safety, emergency, rescue, aviation, marine, or professional navigation service.
LOCATION PERMISSION IS REQUIRED
Big Red Arrow requires access to your device location for its main features to work.
Without location permission, the app will not be able to:
• Work out where you are
• Point towards a destination
• Calculate distance to a destination
• Save your current location accurately
• Point you back to saved places
• Detect arrival
• Provide breadcrumb or backtrack features
You are responsible for granting, managing, or removing location permission through iOS Settings.
If location permission is denied, restricted, inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable, Big Red Arrow may not work properly or at all.
USE SAFELY
You are responsible for using Big Red Arrow safely and sensibly.
Do not rely on Big Red Arrow as your only navigation tool in dangerous, remote, unfamiliar, or high-risk situations.
Do not use the app in a way that distracts you while driving, cycling, walking, crossing roads, hiking, or doing anything else where attention is needed.
You must follow local laws, signs, access restrictions, road rules, land access rules, safety warnings, and common sense.
Big Red Arrow may point towards a destination in a straight line. That does not mean the straight-line direction is safe, legal, accessible, or sensible to follow.
You must not follow the arrow blindly. You are responsible for choosing a safe and lawful route.
NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR UNSAFE USE
Big Red Arrow is a utility that provides directional information based on available device data. It does not know whether a route is safe, legal, open, passable, private, flooded, dangerous, blocked, or suitable for you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for injury, death, loss, damage, trespass, fines, accidents, delays, or other consequences arising from your use of the app, including if the app points towards a location that is unsafe, inaccessible, inaccurate, or unsuitable.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
ACCURACY
Big Red Arrow depends on device sensors, GPS, compass readings, motion data, maps, imported files, Apple services, and other system features.
These can be inaccurate, delayed, unavailable, or affected by buildings, terrain, tunnels, weather, magnetic interference, poor signal, low battery, device settings, hardware issues, software issues, or other factors.
Directions, distances, arrival detection, saved locations, GPX imports, breadcrumb trails, map displays, and haptic guidance may be inaccurate or unavailable.
You are responsible for checking that any destination, saved point, imported point, or route decision is accurate and safe before relying on it.
SAVED PLACES AND SAVE HERE
Big Red Arrow may let you save your current location or other places.
Saved places are only as accurate as the location data available at the time they are saved.
If your device location is wrong, delayed, or inaccurate when you save a place, Big Red Arrow may later point you to the wrong place.
You are responsible for checking saved locations before relying on them.
GPX IMPORTS
Big Red Arrow may let you import GPX files.
You are responsible for the GPX files you import and for checking that imported waypoints, starts, finishes, coordinates, and labels are accurate.
Big Red Arrow does not promise that every GPX file will import correctly or completely.
Unless expressly stated otherwise in the app, Big Red Arrow does not provide full route-following, turn-by-turn navigation, off-route alerts, elevation analysis, emergency navigation, or safety-critical GPX navigation.
BREADCRUMB AND BACKTRACK FEATURES
If breadcrumb or backtrack features are available, they are intended as simple convenience features.
They may not record every location point. They may be affected by battery settings, permissions, background activity limits, GPS accuracy, poor signal, or device behaviour.
You must not rely on breadcrumb or backtrack features as your only way to return from a route, hike, event, car park, or remote area.
APPLE WATCH, HAPTICS, WIDGETS, AND COMPLICATIONS
Big Red Arrow may include Apple Watch, haptic, widget, and complication features.
These features depend on supported devices, operating system versions, permissions, connectivity, battery level, and Apple system behaviour.
They may be delayed, unavailable, inaccurate, or interrupted.
BIG RED ARROW PRO
Big Red Arrow may offer an optional paid subscription or in-app purchase called Big Red Arrow Pro.
Big Red Arrow Pro may include features such as:
• Unlimited saved places
• Arrow themes
• Haptic guidance modes
• GPX import features
• Breadcrumb or backtrack features
• Widgets and complications
• Apple Watch features
• Custom arrival settings
• Alternate app icons
• Other premium features added over time
The exact features available may vary by app version, device, operating system, region, and subscription status.
SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENT
Big Red Arrow Pro is purchased through Apple’s in-app purchase system.
Subscription pricing, duration, renewal terms, free trials, introductory offers, and included features are shown in the app before purchase.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your Apple Account settings before the end of the current subscription period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in the App Store or your Apple Account settings.
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
Refunds are handled by Apple, subject to Apple’s policies.
RESTORE PURCHASES
If you have bought Big Red Arrow Pro, you can use the app’s restore purchases option to restore access where supported.
You must use the same Apple Account used for the original purchase.
FREE AND PAID FEATURES
We may change which features are free or paid in future versions.
If you already have an active paid subscription, we will make reasonable efforts to maintain access to the core Pro features available to you during your active subscription period, but features may change where needed for technical, legal, platform, safety, operational, or product reasons.
ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to:
• Use the app for illegal, harmful, reckless, or unsafe activity
• Use the app to trespass or access private, restricted, dangerous, or unlawful areas
• Misuse location, GPX, map, breadcrumb, or saved place features
• Attempt to copy, reverse engineer, tamper with, or disrupt the app except where permitted by law
• Use the app in a way that infringes the rights of others
• Use the app as a substitute for professional, emergency, safety, rescue, or official navigation services
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Big Red Arrow, including its name, design, icons, graphics, software, features, and other materials, belongs to [Developer / Company Name] or its licensors.
You are granted a limited, non-transferable right to use the app for personal use in line with these Terms and Apple’s applicable terms.
You do not acquire ownership of the app.
APPLE TERMS
Your use of Big Red Arrow is also subject to Apple’s applicable terms, including the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the Apple Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, unless a separate custom EULA applies.
Apple is not responsible for providing support or maintenance for Big Red Arrow.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Big Red Arrow may use third-party or platform services such as Apple services, maps, geocoding, RevenueCat, analytics, diagnostics, App Store services, or other system features.
Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the app.
Some features may require:
• Location permission
• Compass, heading, or motion access
• Apple Watch
• Internet access
• iCloud or device services
• A compatible device
• A supported operating system
• An active Big Red Arrow Pro subscription
We do not promise that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free.
NO WARRANTIES
Big Red Arrow is provided “as is” and “as available”.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the app will be accurate, reliable, safe, suitable for your needs, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms affects rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, [Developer / Company Name] will not be liable for loss or damage arising from:
• Inaccurate location, compass, heading, map, haptic, or GPX data
• Unsafe, unlawful, distracted, or careless use of the app
• Reliance on the app as your only navigation method
• Following the arrow into unsafe, inaccessible, restricted, private, or unsuitable areas
• Loss of saved places, settings, GPX imports, breadcrumbs, or app data
• Interruptions, bugs, unavailable features, or device limitations
• Third-party services or Apple services outside our control
• Injury, accidents, delays, fines, trespass, property damage, or other consequences caused by how you choose to use the app
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
TERMINATION
You can stop using Big Red Arrow at any time.
We may suspend or remove access to features if you misuse the app, breach these Terms, or if required by law, platform rules, or safety concerns.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make important changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and may notify users in the app where appropriate.
Your continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless consumer law in your country requires otherwise.
