Tesla estimating $7.5b in new product revenue within the first 24 hours of Model 3 preorders. Still think Apple isn't going to ship a car?

Netting over ~$7.5b of preorders*, most of which was before anyone had even seen the car is crazy. Tesla’s openly secret plan from 2006 was always to release an affordable car – but it’s still disrupting the market and taking over manufacturers by surprise.
I’ll be holding off – they’re rolling out heading East starting from the West Coast. It’ll be a over a couple of years before we see them available in the U.K, we need to wait for them to hit all the U.S. first.
*You can bail out of the £1000 deposit, you get refunded if you cancel, but the enthusiasm in the announcement and intent is unprecedented.
